Metal Cutoff Saw Fitted W/ Wet Saw Blade
I have a 14" cheapo metal cutoff saw which I obviously use for cutting metal. I've seen dry masonary blades to fit the 14", but what about a wet diamond blade and hooking up a tray/pump to it...anyone ever try it? The application is to cut a load of pavers. Any idea how long a dry 14" masonary blade would last?

Not so good an idea for a couple of reasons... 1) the bearings on the saw will probably go out fast. 2) the motor on the saw won't be happy about all the splashing around and might give you trouble. 3) you might get electrocuted.
All that aside, I've got an old craftsman wormdrive saw that is reserved for cutting anything and everything, including hooking up a pump to cut masonry. I wear rubber gloves and thick boots.

You'd be better off renting a gas saw with a water hook-up.

You can use a larger angle grinder for this or if you have a worm drive saw, Bosch has a dry general purpose diamond blade called SpeedWave.
These things are absolute champs and will really cut a lot of material and the blades don't heat up with it's funky cooling disc. |
