Makita Table Saw Problem.......

I recently purchased a Makita 2704 Table Saw and have had the following problem. While cutting a door down, my co-worker pulled the piece to one side and created one hell of a bind. The saw got really loud, loud enough that I shut it down. When I removed the material and checked the blade, it had play and had even grazed the side of the slotted guide.

After a few minutes, it was once again solid as a rock and the blade was not movable. What happened?

The blade was looking warped and then was running true. Did the blade heat up and warp, return when cool? Or is there something in the saw itself that can be pulled out of square when hot? Shaft Bearing??

Any help would be appreciated. The saw seems to be running true and straight again. Re-cut the door and went back to work with no problems.

Yes. When you put the blade in bind it heats up. The problem is the outer circumference, near the teeth, heats up more than the area near the arbor, The expanded hot steel has no where to go so it waffles. Once cool again it returns to its original shape. Some blade manufacturers try to counter this uneven expansion by cutting slots in the blade with a laser.
