There is only ONE Company that makes a Sawz-all, but MANY that make Reciprocating Saws. Just a bit of "Picking Nits".

Right on. There is only one sawzall manufacturer. The rest are Harry homeowner reciprocating saws. Milwalkee's patented saw is almost indestructible.
I've seen all others destruct fairly easily.

Makita AVT is far better than any Milwaukee at the moment. It's the best recipro I've ever used.

Im a milwaukee guy, but I used a Makita AVT this summer on a demo job and with a good solid demo blade on it, that thing tears through just about anything u point it at.

I probably wont buy one, Ill go with another milwaukee, but I do think they are great tools.

I dont know about the durability of them because the one I was using was still relatively new, but they seemed to be well built.

Makita is making a good product these days but Milwaukee can't be beat, at least not on the Sawzalls. A company I deal with puts inliners in tanks and pipes. Their tools end up covered in this thick black resin that hardens several layers deep. These tools end up in every kind of mess imaginable and all of them swear the Sawzall is the only option.

Yes it the corded saw , Ive used the porta cable sawzalls for years and they had lots of power but the shaft would snap off. The milwaukee's last for ever but its low power .Bosh is OK . Im starting to buy lots of makita tools.
