Makita drill died

My 18v lithium drill died. Lost 2nd and 3rd gear. Made in China version of course. Was a freebie promotion last summer - buy the impact get the drill. So no money lost on my part. Manual showed 1 year warranty so what the heck I took it apart. Wow is there a lot of little gears in there. Of course could not remember how it goes back together, go online for break down and find that all Lithium tools now have a 3 year warranty. Son of a beach. Warranty void now cause I opened it. Oh well like I said it was a freebie.

Just put it back together and take it to a service center or mail it off. I haven't seen anything on my Makita that says you can't open the case.

Fine print on the internet. Can't fake it as the sticker by the battery had to be ripped in half to get it apart.

Ya know... I've had my simple a55 18 volt Dewalt 2 speed drill for over 2 years and I use it EVERY day... No problems yet. I did abuse it at first with mixing heavy mixes like mortar, cement, drywall mud and such alike, but I now have a dedicated 100 amp Dewalt drill for that type of use...
Why do I never see any praises about Dewalt on here?

No one praises DeWalt because everyone already knows how great they are-or were, since they shifted manufacturing to Mexico they've gone downhill.

It isn't so much the name brand as where it is made. My Makita's made in japan have never even hinted at breaking. This drill made in China was grinding while using for months.

100 amp is a bunch of UMPH!
Must have to hook direct to the main breaker
