Ladder Jacks

I've never used ladder jacks with fiberglass extension ladders and have heard people say they are more dangerous than with aluminum. I don't understand the difference and am in the market for ladders now and would like to know if there are any downfalls to using a fiberglass extension ladder as compared to an aluminum one. I'm sure it sounds dumb but I'd rather get experienced opinions first rather than learn yet another hard lesson .

Thanks,
Kevin

pump jacks are faster , with ladder jacks you have to keep re setting to different heights , they work good on small areas, i would recommend pump jacks for the bigger areas well worth the money , after carrying a 30 'plank up the ladder, isnt fun , usually have a guy at each end but accidents can happen. def go pump jacks , i have a few different set ups houses are all different never know what set up you will need

fiberglass when fully extended tend to have more bounce to them ! takes a bit getting used to .

Thanks! I'm sure that is what they were talking about. Believe me, I don't like the 30 foot boards, but don't really mind setting up several 24's in a row to work off of. I haven't had the opportunity to use pump jacks yet.

I will take my aluminum ladders anyday over fiberglass. I have all aluminum ladders except one fiberglass 28', all of my ladders are 300lb rated and werners. The fiberglass is considerably skinnier and has a lot more bounce to it and is about twice the weight of the aluminum. I hadn't used the fiberglass in a while, but just the other day I had it fully extended and climbed to the top it started bouncing and was moving toward the outside corner of the house I almost crapped my pants
