Kraftform Kompakt

So I finally gave in, after numerous trips to a hardware store in the next town over, and bought what they were selling at the counter.

Re: Kraftform Kompakt

so are the bits stainless like most of Wera's stuff? I can't find it in their stainless product list, but from their web site, it seems that all their tools are stainless.

The tips are magnetic, so I would say not stainless steel. I have some of thier diamond encrusted screw tips and those are by far my favorites. If you want some reading order a catalouge!!

Re: Kraftform Kompakt

I want to know what kind of contractor keeps his decorator screwdriver in a decorator pouch.

Every contractor I've worked with (and this includes me) professionally abuses their tools.

Cute, but too many pieces to lose. Give me a Klein 10-in-1 any day.

Wera is top notch stuff. Most is not stainless, you don't want stainless tools unless you are driving stainless fasteners or work around salt water.

Yes, I love their screw drivers and other acessories. It was odd to find it in this little town hardware store.

Re: Kraftform Kompakt

it would be much more odd to find a high end brand like this in a junk box store, I would give up on them if I ever saw then in home depot or walmart.

Why is this?

Ive got a cheap 10 in 1 that I keep in my belt, and I found that after a while the bit that was in it has rusted right to it, and I had to pull it out with pliers just to change the tip. So when I was in a hurry and needed a different bit, it was a PITA.

I was hoping if I had one made of stainless I wouldnt have this problem...no go?

Re: Kraftform Kompakt

Stainless fasteners to me seem softer, I use stainless tips and bits on stainless. Byt the ocean the stainless wont rust.
