Hey Mike...that's a neat tool if you cut a lot of copper pipe on a vice or table for new plumbing. I'd like to see Dremmel make a tiny one that runs off an extension so I don't kill my knuckles in tight spots.

Yellow Jacket makes a ratcheting hand version of that tool. Never saw the battery one. Neat. Nice for close clearance, where you can't spin the cutter. Unfortuneately, Superior Tool is the brand of plumbing tools that they sell at Lowe's. I bought a Superior PVC cutter at Lowe's once, and broke the blade later on. Called Superior, and they don't make the blade as a replacement part. Grrr. I bought a Ridgid to replace it (which is what I should have bought in the first place). I say this to encourage you to buy an extra battery or two when you buy the tool for the future.

That's my thoughts exactly. Great for cutting out a fixture or cutting lots of small copper. I want it!

that tool has a seriously long handle even though the cutting happens without having to move the handle. It would be a nice addition to tool box but I would still not get rid of my compact ridgid tubing cutter - just in case

Yeah, that's where I saw it, but the stupid *****ers don't seem to want to sell any, the only info they had was to their website which has no way to buy them or tells who sells them!

FYI: AIS in Denver works with Superior Tools. Contact them and have them order you one. You'd at least be able to get the price... and they don't show anything about a replacement blade but they do show the rechargeable battery packs.

Just got this reply from the manufacturer
Quote:
We are just getting them out to stores. They will be in all the Lowe's stores in a month or so. You can buy direct by calling during business hours tomorrow 800-533-3244 ext 10, but Lowe's price will probably be less.
