Infrared Cameras

I am thinking about buying an infrared camera. I mostly do repairs and renovations. Most of my work is old buildings. I am also a home inspector and want to do consulting. What is everyone's thoughts about an infrared camera?

Can I rent it out? Ideas for what to charge for that as well as doing it myself? I have seen several instances where it would have been nice to have one and probably would have saved money or even got me more work.

I am looking at one around 7 grand so I want to think this through very well before I commit. I do have a moisture meter and a borescope but they can only do so much.
