Re: I'm Sick Of Getting Out My Compressor!!!!

You actually bought one of those lazy plumber tools?
Someone use it as a hammer?
Figured it would break. I hate Millwakee too, except for that one little tool called, um, oh yeah Sawzall.

I had very bad problems with their old 18v battery line, combination of charger and battery problems.

Lazy to you, more productive to me. If it saves me time it makes me money. A pencil is a lazy carpenter tool, since we could scratch things on a rock I guess.

We've bought 2. Love that thing.

Milwuakee, Dewalt, Bosch, Hilti, Rigid, Porter Cable, Fein, MK, Greenlee, Hitachi, Lenox, Senco and the rest all make me money.

I'll buy anything that will make me money. That's why I'm in business.

I understand Mike, me too but, I still think the Paslodes are the better cordless gun.

I thought the little hack saw thing was kind of neat.

I like buying stuff that makes jobs quicker, more precise and easier it does save money and time.
That is why I started in with Festool stuff, easy to tote around and no mess.

To each his own, that is why there are numerous tool makers.

Yeah I have to agree.

I respond to most of these type posts cause I get sick of seeing bashing of a product or manufacturer by people that I can almost guarantee have no idea what they are talking about.

It gets no different then coming down to a Ford vs Chevy argument.

I still say 90% of the people with problems with dewalt batteries have unrealistic expectations or have caused their own problems.

I had a sub on a job just a few weeks ago. We had just bought the new Dewlat cordless brad nailer. He was thinking about buying something along the lines of the finish nailer and our brad nailer was there and we were going on about how awesome it is. He of course is anti-dewalt.

He ends up taking the gun and tries using it. Of course within 2 shots of using it, it's jammed. Of course the next thing is 10 minutes of how sh*tty Dewalt is this, sh*tty dewalt is that....

After about 5 minutes of un jamming it and refiring it and jamming it again and again, it finally dawns on us that the brads don't look right.

I pull them out and sure enough the guy had grabbed the 16Ga finish nails sitting on the counter instead of the 18ga brad nails sitting in the brad nailers case.

Like I said, most of this is caused by idiots and not the tools, almost always operator error involved. I see it all the time. I see guys grab tools they have never used before and just go to town with them without asking questions or spending 3 minutes reading the directions.

A poor carpenter always blames his tools.

No you can use any brand. With the 16 ga angled nails it's hard to find anything other than Paslode brand in my area. Even our guys using the Dewalts use the Paslode nails. The 18 works with any kind and the framer works with any 34 degree clipped head nail. If you want a round head, then I think you have to buy Paslode.

Last black friday I bought Husky 2-Gallon Compressor with Micro Pin Nailer & Brad Nailer. ($59+tax)
It's perfect for "that little trim"

I think that's why we make sure to always buy the straight version of the dewalt guns, so we can use anybodies nails. Mostly the cheap Sencos.

However, I'm not sure what is going on, I was trying to get another of the dewalt 16 gauge guns and can't find any locally unless they are angled.

Yeah if you don't need the accessibility the angled nailers give you, straight is the way to go. Half the price of angled nails. I wish Paslode made a 15 gauge the way Dewalt does. I think the 18 and 15 combination is a winner.

Mike
I was thinking about one of these but I would be using it exclusively on 1/4" and 3/8" stainless tube. In your opinion would that be a possibility or out of the question? Unfortunatly in Guam I cant put my hands on one without ordering it from off island.

I don't know, have you tried looking at their website or emailing their support?

It comes down to that this this is just an electric cutter wheel, the same wheel you will find in any manual copper pipe cutter.

The Dewalt cordless finishing Nailer is our MVP tool. No matter what it is always in the truck, I would consider it in our top 3 tools behind Measuring Tape and Drill. You cant beat the portability. Its heavier than the Palslodes, but come on your wife would love to see you get some more toned arms. Its a little bulky when working with tight corners.

I adore this gun, if you have other 18volt Dewalt tools, this purchase just makes sense. Ditching the hose makes this the walk-in and start working tool.

I will say that you should make sure you have a a back up battery around(duh) After several days sitting in the car it it will appear totally charged then after 15-20 nails it will start acting strange(flashing light, half hit nails, then nothing), You would think the battery was toast but pop it in the drill and you have an hour of tough use left.

Dont be confused I recommend this to EVERYONE, you will be suprised what you wil take on with this freedom, To bad Dewalt couldnt get an Electric Framing nailer to work, I would have never needed to pick up a hammer again.

Another Paslode fan here..... been using them for 15 years. Sure, you must be smart enough to charge the battery and keep fresh fuel cells around.... kinda like keeping your cell phone battery charged if you want to use it cordless.......lol!
