Hitachi NR90AF Framing Nailer

Hitachi NR90AF Framing Nailer

Finally! Hitachi comes out with a new framer!

I like it! Wire-weld fasteners, round head plus the capacity to shoot clipped too!, dry lockout!, on-board switch for seq/non-seq nailing, easy jamb clear out, 1 1/2 lbs lighter than the Hitachi NR90AC I was considering and about $150. cheaper at only $245.?

My next framer! (My first "real" framer, because I just picked up a Campfeld Hausefeld that I desperately needed and had very little money for...got it brand new on a Home Depot Clearance table for only $65. with case.

And...it works! (but nowhere near as good as a Hitachi or Bostitch)

Was looking at the but I'll happily go with this AF!

Anybody using it yet?

I think that is the same as the NR90AE just with a different color.

I used the NR90AE and tested it for JLC and I really liked it. I don't know how durable it'd be, but I liked using it. The gun to look for too is that smaller Max stick nailer. That has gotten good reviews too.

nothing beats a hitachi!!! when i 1st saw the new green ones i was a little skeptical but after a while of research i decided on the nr90ae best gun i ever used. i run mine on 90psi for everything and just adjust the depth even shooting through 2 layers of lvl.i used the new max and its ok but no where near the power of the hitachi. im acually buying another one soon. have fun with ur new toy and good luck u wont regret it.

I use all Hitachi guns they are great. I just use the coil nailers for framing and roofing I have three stick nail trim guns that shoot real good . I'm going to buy a new metal fastener gun this month . I'm sticking with a Hitachi , the bostach is 1/2 the price . I do have 2 grex trim piners (sweet ) I'm bet the new hitachi gun work great. John

they really do work great. ive been thinking about investing in a metal conn. gun as well. i really do like the hitachi too.my only complaint is that to my knowledge no-makes a conn. nailer that shoots over a 2.5" nail and most of the hangers i use require a 3" nail. i have used my nailer on occasion for metal conn. but just not crazy about it and its also much larger than a conn. nailer.if u know of any please post.much appreaciated.

I've been looking for the same thing. Many many metal connectors require 16p commons, and the ones that do require many of them. I've used a regular framing gun before, but on the thicker straps, if you miss the hole by just a little bit, you are getting a nail towards the face. The closest I have found is the Bostich framer with the positive placement tip. It won't be as good as a real positive placement nailer if someone actually made one, but it will be better than the alternatives.

There are a couple differences between the two:

1-Apperiance
AE- Green flame AF- Classic Green
2-Magazine Angle
AE- 20* AF-28*
3-Fastener Type
AE- Plastic/Paper AF-Wire

nr90ae is a great gun, I have that one. I am told they no longer produce that model? I have seen the older style back and the "flame" type ones gone and replaced for the old style look and pale green color. Anyone have any info on that? If they REALLY are replacing those with the older style?
