Gummed Up Airless Paint Sprayer.

I was given a a Wagner 505 airless that is gummed up it won't prime is what I was told. The hoses are clear. I have not took the gun apart or the unit. But what will I have to do to get it clear? I know how to clean a gun. It's the unit that I am concerned about.
