Gore-tex Fabric Boots

I work in the sun in good old Arizona. It is now getting all the way up to 106 degrees and rising every day. I have been using red wing boots made out of leather with steel toe and steel shank. They get so hot that I feel my toes cooking inside my boots. I need something that would breathe. I need to get boots that have a 90 degree angle heel and 1.25" tall with steel shank and at least 6" high. I have seen some hunting boots made out of gore-tex fabric instead of leather. I was wondering if someone knows of a company or store that would sell boots that meet those requirements. I am desperate for some "cool" boots.

Ive never seen a gortex exterior boot.Usually covered with leather or cordora cloth.Getting behind the times I guess.

Have you looked at Cabellas ?

The only thing I could suggest is odor eater foot pads and maybe powder your feet .

Gortex breaths but not as well as one may think. The stuff can help keep you quite warm, actually.I wont wear a gortex hat unless its raining or cold/cool.

Do you need steel toes? Because Merril makes some good hikers that have pretty good ventilation in them.

Take care with the Gore-Tex and OSHA... Check your with your local office.

Off the top of my head... Remodeling - Leather uppers and non-skid sole. New Construction - Leather uppers with steel toe and non-skid sole. I don't recall about the shank. This might have changed, YMMV.
