Framing Nailer Question

this is probally a dumb question but I figure id ask anyway. I recently puchased a number of new nailers, framing, trim, and brad, all are hitachi.all of them work just fine but I noticed after a few uses I see tool oil on the triggers. I always oil them really well and maybe using too much but is this a common thing with hitachi nailers? im assuming that excess oil is vented out around the trigger area.theres no air leak, just some tool oil.any help is much appreciated.thanks in advance to all.

Re: Framing Nailer Question

I generally put 4or5 drops in first thing A.M. If it's a heavy framing day, maybe a few after lunch. If its blowing oil, back off oiling for a day or so. If it's not getting heavy use, every other day put a couple drops. I used to have an auto-oiler which was nice, but it couldn't take the abuse of hired help.

If the guns have been idle for a long time, like 6 months or more without use, then the o-rings may have cracked and you need to replace them.

And like LoneFramer says, 4 or 5 drops should be good for a day unless you are really going to town.

Re: Framing Nailer Question

thanx for the quick response guys.normally with my other nailers if u over oiled it would blow out of the exaust so when I seen it near the trigger I wasent sure if that's where it comes out on the hitachis. my framer is only about 1 week old, its the nr90 ac3 and at 400.00 I just wanted to make sure there wasent a problem. I think im going to try the auto-oilers,seems like a better way to go. by the way nice collection there loneframer.

That's just my firepower reserve, my everyday guns are on site.
