Re: Framing Guns

I just picked up a couple of Max CN100's
They seem to have too much drive force for pine or pressure treated lumber. They drive the nail so deep the head disapears. I tried dialing down the input pressure but they still drove the nails deep but would not advance the next nail. Turned the pressure back up to 80psi and gun works fine but overdrives the nails.
Does anyone know a way to adjust these guns? Guns are new but no instructions.

I also noticed the gun seems to have a douple tap feature that taps the nail a second time if you keep the triger held back. If you fiire and relase the trigger quickly it only taps the nail once. I confirmed this by moving the gun sideways while I fired it. it buries the nail and pounds annother hole right next to it.

Re: Framing Guns

who has the new max high pressure system. 400 psi . framing gun is almost 700 bucks. compressor is close to 1300. and then you need new hoses? is it really that much better? or is it only for crews running like 6 guns all day everyday?

i'd love to find a lighter gun than my hitachi nv83a, but doesn't seem like it's worth it to spend that kind of coin for a whole new system.

Re: Framing Guns

My first nail gun was a Hitachi NR83A. I have been framing with these guns
for the past 10 years. I have 2 of them and when I need a new gun I will get a Hitachi.

i can't stand the stick nailers. they might be lighter but you are constantly putting nails in them. wastes too much time.
