Forney Mini Arc Welder?
I was at a home show put on by a local builders supply store this weekend, and they had a booth showing the Forney AT-100 ARC-Tig welder- it's about 10 inches tall, 8 inches long, and about 4 inches wide, weighs 6.2 lbs, runs off of 110 power, and outputs 100amps. I was thinking of buying one as a portable welder, but I was wondering if anyone had any experience with Forney, or even this particular welder?

Re: Forney Mini Arc Welder?
Forney machines are made in Tawain and use pretty crappy rectifiers, similar to Clarke. You would be better off looking into a Hobart, Harris, or my personal choice, Lincoln. You'll pay more upfront, but it will last you for years if used properly.

Re: Forney Mini Arc Welder?
I have a Lincoln 140 wirefeed, but I was considering the mini Forney for portability. Do any of the good name welders make a tiny unit such as the one I described?
