Ford and Dewalt

For any of you with Dewalt tools, the new 2009 F150 will support a new feature that "uses radio frequency identification (RFID) technology embedded in DeWalt tools to allow the owner to quickly inventory the tools in the truck’s bed and alerts the driver of any tools not present."

Too bad I own Milwaukee and Hitachi.....and I won't be in the market for a new 2009 anything.....

Thats not a good reason to start buying junk tools.
And what heck why the F-150? what about the superduty drivers out there?

Are DeWalt really junk? I hear a lot of people bashing them on this site. I have always been a Bosch/Hilti guy. While growing up my dad always had DeWalt and he said he never had any real problems. I got him switched to Hilti now, but people on this forum refer to DeFault. Are they really that bad?

There is nothing wrong with Dewalt tools. They have two or three lines though. The lower line is pretty cheaply built but probably serves a homeowner just fine. The better built higher line has been making me lots of money so far.

Every cordless tool I own is DeWalt. I've had zero problems since 2000 with them, and they see lots of daily abuse.
I've bought several combo kits in that time, and several single tools.. and the old stuff is still kickin.

It seems like lots of folks on here have had either "hit or miss" experiences with them.
I can tell you that my DeWalt compresser is a junker.

Now why in the heck can't they do this with the Harley Davidson edition?

Seems to me more folks would like to know they dropped their hog than would care if it was a cheap HD 9V drill/driver that went PLOP.

I don't know about Harley owners, but I'm a Star owner, and I'd sure notice if a 600#+ item fell off the back of the pickup on the freeway lol

That's awesome.. I'm sure this will lead to others following suit as far as this technology goes into tools and vehicles.
