First Festool Purchase
Well, I broke down and did it!
I picked up a TS 55 EQ Plus with the 4' rail and the 8'rail
Can't wait to try it out. This is an excelent system for sure! I have a lot of cabinets to make over the next few weeks and thought; if there was ever a time that I could use this thing, it is now.

I must admit, I was a little envious when you showed me yours in NY I just had to wait till it was justifiable.

Ahhh...you don't need that thing...
Sal only bought a TS55 cuz he saw mine. Festool is like crack; once you get a whiff, you're hooked.
PS: Just don't drop the saw onto a concrete floor because the housing will crack where the anti-splinter screw goes in. Don't ask me how I know....

Uh-huh, hell I just spent 240.00 so I could get another hose, but of course I had to buy the cleaning kit it only made sense, then some more sandpaper, and another tool clip, I really needed the handle for the CT and a few empty systainers, and the... oh lord I need to go back to a meeting!!!
That sucks Greg, how much was the part to fix it? Out of sure curiosity. My poor C12 is beat up after 3 months, but I love that thing!!
Jason, that saw will let you do things you never thought possible. HAVE FUN!!!

I actually didn't need to get a part (yet). I got a stress crack right where you screw in the green antisplinter thingy. I was able to pop the metal back in line and everything seems to be OK. I sure was pissed though!

jason i think greg is right... but isn't crack cheaper? dam tools will be the death of me. i just moved my warehouse and garage into a smaller warehouse this weekend and let me tell you i have WAY too much crack... i mean tools
also i am still not sold on the domino for my work just yet. i do like thier routers though. although at their cost i think i may buy a few lesser quality routers and set each one up with different bits so i don't have to change bits as often. after all isn't that how norm does it.
one thing that i definatly took greg's advice on (pat your self on the back ) was not buying the festool vac. the fein vac and accessories are more readily available for me (amazon.com with prime shipping) and i have used the fein vac for so much more. if the festool vac is made out of the same plastic the systainers are made out of i am very happy that i didn't get the ct vac. i love the fein vac already and i have only filled 8 bags of dust so far

Thanks Sal,
I'll look into those vacs. I think I need a few for other equipment as well. We're working with mostly redwood and cedar now so I have to keep the air clean as possible. Both can make you pretty sick with too much exposure.

I see the split alot with the CT/Fien vacs. I never used the fien, looked at one when I got my CT22, I just liked the fact that the systainers could be latched on top for a nice rolling tool shuttle. Good luck in your choice but I vote for a CT-22. and a hose garage and a handle and a boom arm and a mft/3 and some clamps and another rail and some connectors.... got to go to another meeting.
