Electric Brake

do electric brakes wear out that fast or is it just me? bought 2 saws for my workers and both seem to failing after only a month of somewhat heavy use.. One is a mak 7.5" slider and the other is the hitachi 8 1/2" slider... Hitachi is less the 2 weeks old and has trigger problems and elec brk problems and needs adjustment every couple days to stay true...

Any small saw sliders or new saw recommendation...

high production condo and townhouse so lots of cutting?

thanks in advance....

On the Hitatchi it is the switch. If you change it the brake will work again. It works by shorting out the motor and causing a reverse electric current in the motor causing dynamic braking. The switches contacts get glazed from the high current and no longer cunduct sufficient current to work the dynamic brake. It's a $50 fix.
