Drywall Texture Patch Guns

Does anyone use the Red Tail or Laco brand "Professional" drywall pump texture patch guns? We patch a lot of water damaged texture and I've got my eye on these two which both have good reviews. I've tried the Homax guns and they are junk.

Check out the $90.00 Wagner electric hopper gun. Once you learn how thick each texture mudd should be it does a great job and blends well.

Re: Drywall Texture Patch Guns

Good lord! $165!!! That isn't even in the realms of sensibility!!!!

I've seen some like that and thought that would be nice to move up to instead of those $9.00 Homex pumps from Lowes, but I had no idea 165.00, I was figuring 29 to maybe 39 at the most.

If all of the step ups from the $9.00 Homex are in that price range I'll stick to buying a couple of Homex pumps a year.

That Wagner gun I have in my garage collecting dust. I have not seen anyway to get a professional orange peal out of it. The one I have doesn't seem to have enough power to get a fine enough spray for my tastes.
