Dewalt Emglo - Good Deal Now At Lowe's

For all you pros looking for a good deal on a DeWalt compressor that will drive a couple framing nailers.

Emglo 200 psi/4.5 cfm, model D55146 compressors usually $359. Home Depot dropped the price to $309., and same compressor is 10% off at Lowe's. I price matched at Lowe's, took the additional 10% off and walked out the door with a good deal and very capable compressor that now gives me redundancy on the remodeling job site.

For info in case anyone is in the market.

I'm waiting for my 10% off coupon in the mail to get it for even less! I've had my eye on that one for months now. 200 psi!

Re: Dewalt Emglo - Good Deal Now At Lowe's

Specs say it's 78 bBA, which is relatively low for an oil-free. By comparison the Porter-Cable Job Boss, which is equivalent except for producing only 150 psi max vs the Emglo's 200 psi, is rated at 85 dBA by the same ISO 3744 standard.

Looking forward to putting it through the paces later this week!

I picked mine up at Lowe's for $309, they wouldn't give the additional 10% off since it was a sale price already. When I get my 10% off coupon in the mail I will return it and re-buy it with the coupon.

That's my baby. She's so quiet, I thought she wasn't functioning correctly, but as I began to nail, I had to accept that I have a quiet compressor.

You can actually stand next to it and talk and be heard.

Dual handles (one for wheeling, the other for carrying).

Wheels!

I love her.

Yes I have the one you are talking about. I like it a lot. It's not quiet but tolerable, even inside a house. I feel robbed, I bought mine for $359 when it first came out.

I would've paid a hundred dollars ove what I paid for it. It's worth it.
As with any product, of course the price will go down with time.
The question is, how long would you have gone with out a great compressor,
just to save $70.?

So this little guy can run two guns firing 3 inch nails at a time without a struggle (unsunk nails)?

Re: Dewalt Emglo - Good Deal Now At Lowe's

I've had mine for over a year and it runs great. I reguarly run 3 framers and it doesn't have much problem. When we all start nailing sheathing it can bog down a little but thats normal for a compressor that size. The sound is great, we switched from my bosses oilfree PC which was awful to listen to all day. All around another great tool from Dewalt.

Re: Dewalt Emglo - Good Deal Now At Lowe's

I ran out and got one of these, after seeing the tip on this chat, the only problem is im a plumber and dont use this at all. I ended up getting it because I trust the name and am anticipating some work I need to do around the house...thinking about doing some wood floors and replacing trim. My expertise does not extend to carpentry or carpentry tools, can someone now point me in the right direction in the way of hoses and nailers?

Re: Dewalt Emglo - Good Deal Now At Lowe's

I have had one for a year now and love it. It will run 2 roofers nailing all day or two framers all day. It isn't the quietest but it is far from the loudest. I love how easy it is to transport. As far as hoses, spend some money to get decent ones, it will make your job easier. My personal favorite is a ridgid i got from HD, it is flexable even in cold and the connectors are great, i think lowes sells the same hose under a different name.

Any polyurethane hose is fine, flexeel from coilhose pneumatics is just one brand. Stay away from pvc, that stuff gets like copper tubing in the cold. 1/4" ID hose is the standard, if you go 3/8" you'll have to upsize all the fittings on your tools and compressor.

But they set the bar for quality IMO. I have a couple of the "other" brands, and they begin to leak at the fittings awfully fast, and are not quite as flexable.
