DeWalt Cordless Vac's

Has anyone tried these or use them at jobsite ?
or a better alternative ?
Im considering one of these because I already have charger & batteries.

I see they have 2 models DC500 cordless 18v & 120v, and DC515 which is cordless 18v only.
Im looking for something to cleanup relatively small messes made while servicing windows / doors, not cleaning up jobsites. Also being able to suck
water up would be required so it would have to be wet/dry.

Al

I have that little Ridgid tool box lookng vac. I does the trick. However, it is a little noisy and I would buy a longer hose.

I had the Dewalt 18volt/corded. I don't remember the model number. I took it back because it was too underpowered. I got the Rigid "tool box looking one". It has adequate power and is nice and compact. I like the box shape so I can put things on top of it in the van.

Re: DeWalt Cordless Vac's

the vacume is something that dewalt should build to use the 36volt batteries- who's all that worried about weight on a vacuum? Much more important is power.

I don't have any experienced with the little Rigid vacuum, but the rigid vacuums I have used have been great- far exceeding any expectations I would have for a shop vac. Fein and Festool might be better, but nothing in it's price bracket comes close.

Re: DeWalt Cordless Vac's

I just recently bought the Dewalt cordless/corded model which you're asking about. As far as suction goes, it's ok for small cleanups. It's pretty decent considering it's size.
The reason I bought this was because I was tired of lugging my Rigid wet/dry vac for small jobs and in small areas. This is where the Dewalt comes in extremely handy. And it sucks water really well! And it's got a neat drain plug so you don't have to open it up just to drain it out.
I have to say I'm pretty impressed with this vacuum despite it's price. I'd recommend it.

I have been using the Dewalt 1/2 gallon wet vac 18v http://www.dewalt.com/us/products/to...roductID=10654
for over a year. It is not that powerful, but it does a great job for small cleanups. I like the detachable hose that I can put attachments on. I keep it charged up so that I also have a spare tool battery to use.

I have the Dewalt cordless/cord vac for about 3 months and have not used my big rigid since, the cordless is great for small jobs where you just need to vac around the base borad or just vac up some sheetrock dust. its a nice unit but lack a little when it comes to power/suction.
