Re: Cordless Impact
Hitachi power tools kind of have some green/black squiggles on them that would look cammoflage. But as far as I know it's the Makitas that have the lights.

Re: Cordless Impact
Ryobi impacts also have a light. Did he paint it? Or it might be off brand.
Btw if you are looking to buy an impact driver I would recomend dewalt's 18v, it has a lot of power and has worked well for me. I have noticed that it works best on large screws (8s and up). Its over kill on the smaller ones, and i find it harded to control, when using small screws. Jack |

Re: Cordless Impact
Hitachis have lights in the hook at the base of the grip -- good when you're inside a cabinet box
or looking for loose change under the truck seat when you need that $1.00 cheeseburger at McD's on the way home |

Re: Cordless Impact
Makita has lights on the tool body that turn on when you pull the trigger and stay on for a certain amount of time
Hitachi has a light on the belt clip with an on/off switch. I think it also turns of after 15min |

Re: Cordless Impact
I've been drooling over the lxt impact since I used my boss's this summer- damn nice tool- went through a 2x with a 1" spadebit faster than I would have expected a regular drill to go through plywood, yet so small

Re: Cordless Impact
Ditto on the Makita LXT impact. I previously had the Bosch one and it was good, but the Makita is better because it's lighter, has more torque, and the light it angled propery whereas the bit usually blocked the light path on the Bosch.
The other Makita LXT tools are nice too. Best I've used yet.

I'm also a proud owner of the DW 18 volt. The Makita lithum sounds nice but at about twice the price. Anyway, I also recommend the DW.

I have the greeninsh typical Makita colored setup. I haven't heard anything about the white line.

Re: Cordless Impact
the white one has smaller batteries with about half the MilliampHour ratings of the standard LXT(the Green one) which means you get shorter run time but less overall weight. I believe you can swap batteries between the two regardless of which drill you may have.

Re: Cordless Impact
I have the Bosch 18 volt impact and the Panasonic 12 volt impact, I use my panasonic more than my bosch. I like both but the 12v panasonic just seems to groove better with my every day tasks. I really like that I can adjust the torque on my panasonic, the bosch is always balls to the walls.

Re: Cordless Impact
Without a doubt go with the new Hilti SID 144-A. It has three well positioned lights, light weight, Li-Ion, and very good power. It also has a two year no cost warranty, which is the best I've seen. 3400 beats per minute, 2700 rpms and 1240 inch pound of torque. You can find an 18V with higher torque, but this this is a bruiser for it's size and can't compete with it's quality!
