Cordless Dewalt Finishing Nailer

Does anyone own one? Does anyone have experience with this nailer compared to others? Are cordless nailers as powerful as one that requires a compressor? What about angled vs. straight, is there a big difference?

I see the mention of a pin nailer which appears to have a smaller nail, 23 gauge? Is the higher the gauge the smaller the nail? I have an immediate need to hang some small moldings and baseboard but want to purchase something that I can use for other nailing projects as well.

Re: Cordless Dewalt Finishing Nailer

I have the angled DeWalt nailer, and I like it. I only use it occasionally since I am a painter, but it is a lot better than the Senco brand cordless nailers that I have seen on jobsites. It fires faster, no delay in firing. I have not had any issues with it not being powerful enough for me.

tate,
the pin 23 gauge is as you say a thinner nail (pin) They are almost the size of a pin. Very small hole. Used for trimming laminate trip etc. I have the Dewalt angled nailer and love it. I don't use it all day or my right arm would fall off but it is great for trim outs and such. I have had bad luck with other than dewalt nails though. Pasload work but they seem to jamb more. If you buy the gun buy dewalt nails. I have to order them on line as no-one local seems to carry them. Can't say I have any other nailer to compare. I don't do compressors on site so battery was my choice.

I have one too and I thought the delay was a little annoying but it is nice if you are not a carpenter and need it to nail one or two things. As a primary option for nailing (if you are not using it 8 hours a day everyday) the bostich kit with the three guns for like $200 is the balls.
