Cordless Dewalt Circular Saw

Hi All !

I just bought a Dewalt Cordless kit and got around to using my cordless circular saw. Well, when I let go of the trigger the blade stops instantly. Says nothing in the owners manual about it. I am wondering if this some super brake deal or what. WOrks great though

Dan

That's the norm. It's just like the drill I suppose-- doesn't freewheel like the corded cousin. That saw is handy, I really like mine..

Sounds like an electric brake, nothing different then what is offered on other good saws for safety.

I've tried yours and the new Milwaukee V28. No comparison. The V28 last 3x as long and cuts like a corded circ saw. Check out this funny commercial.

I think I remember reading somewhere that battery powered motors have brakes because a freewheeling motor will drain the battery. Anybody else heard that?

Seems to me they should harness that free wheel energy and use it to recharge the battery.

Oops there goes another $100 added to the price of the saw!

Blade depth handle on my DeWalt cordless broke a few days ago. Only about 2 months old.
