corded dewalt drill trigger speed control question

ive the basic dewalt corded 3/8 chuck 7 amp drill which has the speed control built into the trigger , how much you depress the trigger controls how fast the chuck spins . well this is a GREAT drill , solidly built with GREAT power and an excellent carrying case so im not criticizing this drill one bit - ever . but for me the trigger speed control is too difficult to hold on slow and i thusly always end up going right from zero to full speed , which isnt appropriate when say driving dry wall screws into the ceiling where you must start the screws off slow to get them biting or the screw shall wobble and the drill bit slip off of screw making the job difficult . and the dewalt screw starter bits where the screw fits in a little sleeve so it dont wobble until its driven by bit out of sleeve and into material doesnt work too well in my opinion . so im wondering if theres a better acsesory to attatch to drill to drive screws with or an internal adjustment i could make to drill trigger for better speed control ?

Well if you are doing sheetrock save yourself a headache and get a REAL drywall gun, I personally like the dewalt and Milwaukee. had the dewalt forever, but recently buddy got the Milwaukee and I think I might get one. As far as speed control, cant remember the drill, but there are drills with a dial a speed, but dont remember which one, because I never needed that feature, right tool for the right job.
