Re: Clamps

I guess it really depends upon what you need them for. I love the Bessey clamps for cabinets, they come in all lengths but are pricey. Pipe clamps you put together yourself are much less expensive and come in 1/2" & 3/4" and work great if you use blocks to keep them from dinging the wood.
Jorgenson makes great cabinet clamps also.
Jeez...I just realized I have so many friggin clamps, but...you can never have too many.
I have 'C' clamps, ring clamps, frame clamps, spring clamps, bench dogs(a kind of clamp)...lots of clamps.
What are "pony" clamps?

Andy.

Most of my pipe clamps are
"Pony" clamps, I think that's
the original brand.
It's also the generic term,
like Kleenex or Coke.

All of my Bessies were
bought on sale.

Re: Clamps

in my truck are the irwin quick grip and bessey HD tradesman bar clamps those are the everyday stuff.

for cabinet use i use pony/bessy/craftsman(oldies but goodies) 3/4-inch pipe clamps. if i did more cabinetry i would invest in some k-body clamps. but i inherited alot of pipe clamps from my Grandfather so thats what i have and haven't had the need to replace.

Re: Clamps

We have a ton of the Bessey UniKlamps, ranging fromlike 3 feet to around 9 feet or so.

We just bought a few of the Bessey K-Body REVO clamps, great investment. They are expensive, but we ended up finding them for a bargain and got a deal.

I love the way you can flip them around so you can put pressure out, not just in, so you can expand things if you need to. Just an added feature that ended up being helpful for us in certain situations.
