Brand Loyalty

How much brand loyalty to you guys have? You have to have all the same brand tools or just what ever is cheapest? And how much more would you pay to have your brand over another?

Brand and quality go hand in hand, most of my power tools are made by Hilti, because no one else offers the quality, service, and warranty that they do. Most of my hand tools are made by Matco or Ridgid for the same reasons.

Fein, Makita, Hitachi, DeWalt, Freud, Bosch plus chisels from England, block planes from Germany and the list goes on. All good stuff at the least. No brand loyalty.
On price, not the first decider for me, but I do consider price important.

I seem to spread my money around. Most of the tools seem priced within a few bucks of each other, so I tend to look at the features and design.
I'd spend 50-75 more for something i thought would work better for me

I am only brand loyal when it comes to cordless, but that is just because they all use the same battery. Currently using Makita for cordless, but it could change in the future. I have a Bosch jigsaw, old PC Saw Boss and sander, Milwaukee 18 gauge, Cadex 23 gauge 2", Senco compressor, and so on.

I have very little brand loyalty....I was originally very loyal to only a few brands until I realized that one rebadged chinese crap, one offered negative customer service, etc etc. I really like Hilti, not because of brand or optimal performance but the service they offer, I walk in they know me by my name, ask about my jobs and fire me a coffee!

I have a huge mix of tools, what ever I like best I keep in my primary bag and the seconds go to my stationary toolbox in my shop, the second bag and then the remainder onto the third bag (for anyone who happens to help me out).

Very Little Brand Loyalty

I have Battery loyalty!

Other than that best for the price. I would have some brand loyalty to Festool if they were a bit closer to the rest in cost. But then again they would have to make a cheeper tool to sell a cheeper tool!

I have some tools of just about every brand. When I go to buy a new tool I look at the features each of the different brands offer and then try and research the quality of the tool. And definitely don't buy "whatever is cheapest." That's like when a homeowner goes with the cheapest estimate-you get what you pay for most of the time. Cost comes into play but I mostly base my decision on others experience with the tool and features of the tool.

Milwaukee cause they seem to be the best in my price range most of the time. Big powerful motors are a big plus. Also CPO carries the entire line up.

I like the Hilti power tools the most. Bosch is also pretty good stuff. I'm not so crazy about Milwaukee anymore since a lot of their stuff is now made overseas. I'd rather buy used older American tools that are in good condition (even if I have to pay premium price) than the brand new stuff that's imported. I would never buy from Harbor Freight; don't care how cheap it is or what it can do, to me it's all throw away.

best tool for the best price usually, i shop around for a better price. for power tools anyway. for hand tools has to do with balance how well they work unless its something like blades or beater chisels which i use for framing or demo. for finish work ill spend more for better quality hand tools

All my cordless tools are the same "Dewalt" so i dont have to carry different batteries and chargers. The tools are great but the batteries leave a little to be desired.
