Bosch Tools.

As we know, higher end tool comanies make great tools, but every company has atleast one 'lemon' in their lineup of tools. I am becoming more and more of a bosch fan and every bosch tool i have used has been great. Because of this im starting to buy more bosch tools, and i am wondering what bosch tools should i stay away from?

I don't care for the Bosch circular saw. It has some nice features as in the joist hanger and easily replaceable cord but the saw doesn't cut worth a ****. It bogs down any chance it gets.

My Bosch hammer drill works flawlessly.

Stay away from the lightweight cordless lineup that's made in Mexico. It says right on the tool where it's made, so stick with the made in Germany lineup and you'll be fine. I had a Bosch 18 volt cordless set for a long time, they are great tools. I dropped the 1/2" drill from a ladder on the 3d floor once, it kept right on going!

Bosch owns Skil and all their trademarks, so any technology found in your Bosch circular saw probably finds it's roots there.

Most Bosch tools are, in my experience, totally bombproof. I regularly use a Bosch jigsaw, bull-dog hammer drill, portable table saw, 1/4" shank router, impact gun, and other tools, and have no complaints about them.

I assume you are talking about the sidewinder?

I have the worm drives and wont buy any other after using those.

I have the wormdrive and I like it a bunch as well. I have about 12 tools from bosch. The only thing I had a problem was with some of my cordless ones, they were under warranty and had no problems getting them fixed or new ones.

I will second that I don't like their circular saw either. I have been looking into their cordless drills, they look pretty nice and real durable. But the only Bosch tool I have is the 1590 jig saw, in my opinion its the best jigsaw I have ever owned or used

Re: Bosch Tools.

I own several Bosch tools:
  • 2-1/4 hp Routers(2), very good
Router table, average

Recip saw, average

planer, average

Jobsite table saw with gravity lift, very good

3/8 corded electric drill, 12 years old and won't die

Overall they all are good tools that have performed trouble free

Once again please clarify for people that are looking at worm drives that you are talking about sidewinders.

I know that some on here also put down the worm drive because the handle on the guard is plastic... But that is thier only complaint. One of my bosch worm drives I turned into a concrete saw and misuse and abuse it and even that plastic handle has not broken off.

Robert, Yup I was talking about the sidewinders, not the wormdrives. I have acctually never used or owned a worm drive. I have been looking at them though. What are some benefits of the worm drives?
