Bosch 4000 Table Saw Problem

I was ripping some pvc today when the blade suddenly slowed to a crawl and stayed that way....It will turn on and go real slow, then throw a breaker. Anyone ever experience this?

Hmm. I have heard of problems with the soft start mechanism leading to symptoms like this. Call Bosch.

Happened to mine too, during first year and under warranty luckily. That was about 5 years ago, sent in for repair and good ever since.

Orson- Do you happen to remember what they had to do to fix it? What parts where replaced? Motor, switch, control board? Thanks...

Re: Bosch 4000 Table Saw Problem

I had a bosh saw die 15 days out of warranty. Bosh would not help me out . If you send it to bosh they will fix it at a lower cost baced on age . But I tryed replaceing the soft start chip in the side of the motor for 40 bucks and it dident work . Then the guys droped the saw and cracked the bace up so i fliped it in the trash the saw was only used a few days. I think it died because we used a 50' 14 gage cord on it . Now i run a25" 12gage ex cord .I have a dewalt and a larg rigded saw that we use every day because they have a spot in the truck & trailer. The bosh cuts real nice so i bought a new one with out the stand on amazon tools .I hope this saw lasts

You were using high amperage tools and a 14G extension cord? Shame on you. I can't think of anyone who uses anything over 12G in construction except for drywallers and electricians. Anything over 50'-75' use a 10G.
