Bosch 12v Track Saw

Anyone look at this? The 12v track saw? Just wondering how the saw is vs the Milwaukee. I really hate having dual 12v systems.

Re: Bosch 12v Track Saw

I may be confused, but that doesn't look like a track saw to me. Just a regular trim saw.

I think the title should read "trim" saw.

It does have a rail guide that comes with it to work with Bosch tracks and Festool tracks. It cannot cut a 2x4.

This is the same as Dewalt's 20v. Yes they are 10.8v...but here in the States they sell them as 12v because that's the battery voltage right off the charger. The tools are the same as ours in NA.

I thought the Bosch tracks were the same as Mafell tracks, and the Festool ones weren't compatible?

That's correct...but the adpater has two grooves...one for the Bosch tracks and one for the Festool. This saw does not attach directly to the rail. It uses a parallel guide similar to a router.

Cordless track saw? I got one. Works amazingly well too. Used it to cut stair treads in half diagonally and glue back together for curved stairs. Cut, glue, and clamp. Sold me on track saws, definitely be one in my future.

Isn't that odd that all the manufacturers here use peak voltage for their 10.8v systems (12v peak) and all but DeWalt use nominal voltage for their 18v platforms?

Re: Bosch 12v Track Saw

They tried not to. People blew **** up. New design batteries with 20v label followed to keep people from plugging li ion batts into NiCad chargers. Uninformed people think it's marketing ploy, truthfully it's to keep uninformed people from burning houses down.

Re: Bosch 12v Track Saw

well, thats not 100 percent true either, as there is no risk to plug in a 20v dewalt into their older 18v system, as one is a slide pack, and the other is not.

Its a marketing ploy to make it sound like there is more power, but they are all the same.

I like this, how did you attach the aluminum channel?

Counter sink screws through the side of the channel into the side of the aluminum cast on the saw deck.
M18 fuel has a cast deck. Regular brushed saw and corded saw don't.
Track is made out of azek.
