Re: Best Small Air Compressor?

MF, that's why I asked you to define small. I will pull the trigger on the one previously stated. To me it's a medium capacity unit. It'll run a framer with no problem. Also has two outlets for hoses negating the need to "T" bone off 1 hose.

Here is the utube of the v20. Video.

But as previously said, go back and search this topic. I'll be the first one to admit I rarely use the search button.... never brings up what I want it too.

Re: Best Small Air Compressor?

I got the mac2400 based off some recommendations here. Sure it's kinda heavy but it's quiet and recovers quick. If I could do it again I think I'd do the mac5200 because of the cart.

Re: Best Small Air Compressor?

OK if you have more than one smallish compressor and need more air power for framing or nailing off this what I do I put a air splitter on each compressor, you know like a 3 way then I have this hose short hose with a male on each end. We call it the double ender With this short hose we jump the 2 compressors together doubling the tank space or PSF # now you're ready to fire a way

Yes, I use my Paslode PF350 with mine. I also use mine when there are two of us running trim guns. It has had Zero problems keeping up with both.

I have a racing strip painted on ours. Makes it go real fast when I'm hauling it in the job.

Re: Best Small Air Compressor?

I got a Makita one tanker. Lots of pressure, but very tippy. In the back of the truck, you have to sandwich between some tools or tie it off. Otherwise, the first turn and the thing is laying on its side, leaking oil.

28 extra lbs. + more of a machine than I really need.

I just don't do a ton of framing where ya need all that machine. Usually two passloads going at once for a basement remodel is it. Other than that it's finish guns.

If I ran a roofing crew where the guns were going 8hrs a day then it's time for a bigger unit but no roofing for this company!!!!

I guess in one sentence, the 25big is more than I need.

Re: Best Small Air Compressor?

I chose the 25BIG because I would rather have a little more air and compressor muscle then not.

A recently used this compressor for the first time when helping a coworker add some walls inside his recently purchased home. It has the "same" kind of sound that a direct drive oilless compressor has except that it actually has an oil sump. As I understand it, ROL-AIR makes a model that is whisper quiet in comparison, but I felt that since both had full duty cycle motors and components that I would rather have more CFM's.

It works like a champ. And as a bonus, it's made in Taiwan not China. The only ROL-AIR air compressors that are made in America are the ones that actually have belts. Most of those start around $700 mark. I got this online from Acme tool

http://www.acmetools.com/tools/ROLAI...Air+Compressor

it came with free shipping.
