Best Rotary Laser

I ma looking for all recommendations for laser levels. I want to use it inside and out. For tile layouts on floors and walls, trim, cabinetry and all of that good stuff. I don't want dewalt as I am no longer using their products. I want self leveling with tripods or poles that can go from floor to ceiling

Re: Best Rotary Laser

here is the one i got several years ago. i still want to get a real transit to read grades. i use this one to level lines on the walls for a cabinet install. gives me a nice accurate line all the way around a room. comes with a wall mount for doing like a dropped ceiling, i haven't used that because I don't do dropped ceilings.

it's a bit pricey but it's one of the best out there. i probably don't use all the features. i don't think there is one laser that can do everything. i have a smaller mp3 laser by straitline for plumbing up to a point on the ceiling or leveling across a room etc. i use this one for setting a footing depth while my excavator is digging the foundation.

I did accustical ceilings and steel stud framing in commercial buildings like lambeau field and hospitals and the company i worked for had all topcon lasers. They are expensive but made for the professional. I bought one for personal use and think they are worth the money.

The cabinet maker that works on a lot of our jobs uses one from Pacific Laser Systems, he makes all his cabinets on site, so it must be somewhat accurate. We rarely need a rotating laser, for simple layout work I use a Hilti PML-32 line laser.

WOW, what a surprise Killertoiletspi reccommends HILTI, damn that's a first.
Who woulda guessed it?

Dude you should add a sixth career choice and become a Hilti saleman, you hawk that stuff more than the guys in Hilti shirts at the depot.

Re: Best Rotary Laser

Hemi,

I use a LaserJamb and and a Gizmo from CST Berger. I don't think they are available anymore. They are good in dim light and indoors, but for outside use you need one with sensor capability. It is really all I need for interiors, Plus a plumb dot version. I use the RoboVector model. Porter Cable has a current model like this.

Here's one that is pretty good. It will cost double with the sensor.

Stabila 04100 Manual Leveling Rotating Laser System

There are cheaper stands than the Laser Jamb, but for all the good design, it is worth the price.

Re: Best Rotary Laser

I have been in the flooring business for 17 years and found that Hilti is by far one of the most acurate lasers on the market today...and also the most costly too.

Iam a General contractor in Florida and we use a Hilti rotary to check levels of the large slabs in commercial buildings and it is accurate to 1/16" at 200ft out.
