Best combo kit?

Any thoughts on a good combo kit? I previously had a 18v Delta kit which had a sander, jigsaw, flashlight, circular saw, drill.

Why is it that evey kit I look at has something that I don't need/want to pay for, like a caulking gun? I did see a rigid kit with a planer, that was interesting.

Don't need super high quality lithium. Not until I install my nuclear alarm system in my garage anyhow.

Ridgid has the standards in thier combo kits... Drill, circ saw, sawzall, light, impact. But you can buy seperate: Planer, glue/caulking gun, jigsaw, wet dry vac. These seperate tools can be used with thier 18V system OR thier new 24V lithium. THEY DO NOT HAVE BATTERIES. But I think most run around $120 give or take a few bucks. They say they have some more tools on the way soon for this setup.

hi Chris...

If you don't want to go DeWalt again then I would look at the 6 piece combo from Bosch, http://www.boschtools.com/tools/tool...=54890&I=67436
comes with....

18V Brute Tough™ Hammer Drill/Driver is like having three tools in one - drill, driver & hammer
18V 6-1/2″ Circular Saw has 2.4 amp battery for longer run time
18V Reciprocating Saw has a 1-1/4″ stroke for fast, aggressive cuts and 3/4″ stroke for plunge and precise cuts
18V Jigsaw features the One-Touch™ system for quick blade changes
18V Planer is the only full-size cordless planer on the market Full 3/4" width, depth adjustable to 1/16"
18V Flashlight perfect for any jobsite

Looks like toolbarn has the combo kit for $555.00 US, http://www.toolbarn.com/product/bosch/CPK60-18/

DeWalt seems to offer a wider variety of cordless tools and I think that's what makes them appealing to most plus availability locally is real good with them. For me, I'd rather pic the best tool regardless of the manufacturer so I end up having cordless tools right now from Milwaukee, Panasonic and Bosch.

Hope this helps!

I've never used one of these, how are they compared to the "old school" way?

Chris,I have the Bosch combo kit. The jig saw is excellent ,the sawsall is good too. The brute hammer/drill I never use ,but its nice.. The circular saw is par with others out there. Came with a flashlight. I wish the flashlight was like the dewalts with that long neck but its just a hand held with a multi position lamp.Cant hang it off stuff.

The battery chargers that have come with my bosch corless tools are slow chargers. When I bought the combo kit they had coupons at the yard where I sent in for a free quick charge maintenance charger, and that works real good. Buy one if they don't have the coupon, because waiting for the slow charge is a pita unless you have a few extra batteries.

I had a dewalt drill and circular saw kit before this one and the bosch is as good if not better to my liking.

I also have the bosch compact cordless (14) that I used most the time and I just got that 10v litheon that I like thus far.
