Belt Sander Recommendations

I need a new belt sander to replace a cheap ryobi and would like to hear what you guys mostly use. I have been looking at the PC352VS, the makita 9903 and the DeWalt 433. The deWalt kit comes with a benchtop jig to use a stationary sanding station. The Makita sells the similar jig seperately but I don't really know how much I would use this feature. I really am looking for longetivity, durability and ease of use.

I have used a friends PC in the past and really liked it but curious if you guys have anything good to say about the Makita or DeWalt belt sanders.

Thanks Guys!

well I have the makita 9901 and hate it, it is nice and compact and lightweight, but the belt tensioner and tracking SUCK. the belt is all over the place while using. I'll probably get a PC real soon.

My belt sander is a "Rockwell", and is probably 150 years old. (well, maybe not quite). Bought it secondhand about 10 years ago, and it continues to work fine. It is a tool I bought to "repurpose" for use as an electrician's tool. I use it to adjust boxes that stick out too far.

I have been using pc belt sanders for over 15 yrs. I rely on them daily and can honestly say I have yet to be disappointed. They are well balanced , easy to control, versatile, belt changes are a snap and the zero clearance feature is a big plus.

Most of the professionals in my field use pc belt sanders and I believe it's because they are durable and dependable. If I were to invest in another sander tomorrow it would be Porter Cable.
