Anyone use hot melt glueguns?

Hey guys I remember a thread a while back about glueguns, but I couldn't seem to find it. Has anyone ever used a hot melt gluegun for trim work and such. I was looking at giving it a try, I saw they have special glue sticks for wood. I was thinking it would be good for little trim returns or maybe preglueing and nailing a miter or something instead of wood glue which takes a while to set up. What do you guys think anyone try it?

I've used my glue gun for years but not for wood work. I have tried several glue sticks and haven't found anything strong enough. I did set a counter top once with silicone and placed some hot glue tabs also to grab fast but since then I don't see the need for that application.
If you try some sticks and they work well please post your findings. It would be helpful for some of the things you mentioned.

http://www.fastcap.com/prod2.asp?page=2p108oz We use 2P10, you have to see a demo to actually believe that it sets up in ten seconds---it does! It has something special in it so the acids in the wood do not eat it up.

I use mine quite a bit. I use it on detailed trim (egg and dart or other finer trim that is too fragile/small to nail), to hold it in place until the adhesive sets, I use it when I am setting wall tile where I need to hold certain pieces in place before the thinset sets up, like bullnose around a nitch or small trim pieces, just a couple small dabs on a corner will hold it in place, for me it's quicker than tape and more accurate.

I use the industrial 3M gun that takes the 5/8" sticks. They have many different adhesives from fast tack to slow set, metal adhesive, glass adhesive, and so on.

I use hot melt, but not for "real" woodworking. I have tried it on cabinet crown for outside corners, hoping to eliminate a few highly visible nails, but I find it is too heavy bodied and does not allow the joint to close tightly. I do use it to attach rienforcement blocks behind cabinet crown at outside corners where the cabinets do not go to the ceiling, And to hold lots of stuff in place while a slow setting adhesive cures. The most use for me is glueing together patterns and templates for odd shaped work such as tops that have to fit between highly irregular walls, or treads for winders.

Wow, thats what I was looking for. I'm deffinetly gonna try that stuff.
Thanks guys for the input, I sorta thought that hot glue was only for temporary use, that fastcap looks like it would work pretty good though.
