Anybody Else Love These Little Air Kings?

I just bought my second one of these I like the first one so much I had to have 2. Anybody else use these or similar ones? They come in so handy when mudding and taping, texturing, painting, blowing fumes or dust out a window... I usuall just set one in the middle of the room and point the nozzle straight at the ceiling and let it circulate the air to help stuff dry, cure or set faster. For something like $40 I'm pretty happy with them.

Doesn't it blow dust all over the fresh paint?

Damn Ron, don't you keep your work areas clean?

Actually I can see where you might think that, but it isn't like a hurricane or anything, it's pretty tame. I don't try to use them as a blower shooting air directly at something, just having a little circulation keeping the dead air moving a bit seems to do wonders.

I've looked at the Stanley ones, the only ones I've seen, but I didn't buy any as I wasn't sure if thay'd hold up to real usage
They didn't seem particularly beefy
I like the concept though
I'd like to check out those Air Kings
Where'd you get 'em?

I have a stanley blower. Looks just like the air king. I use it every day in the spring and summer for the same reasons as stated by Mike. The stanley holds up fine been using it to cirulate the air when sanding (using PC drywall sander without the vac) and with all the drywall dust it sucks in, it still runs like a champ.

Just wondering if these air king type fans have any advantage (other than size) over a $10 box fan from the local five and dime?

I see larger versions of these fans being used all the time by restoration companies to dry out a house, but I've never seen a contractor using one. Good idea, anyhow.

Re: Anybody Else Love These Little Air Kings?

Well, speaking as a guy who used to use a box fan, I can tell you I like these over the box fan for sure. The box fan can't be pointed vertically very easily, the box fan is bigger and takes more room to haul around, the box fan has a tendency to fall over backwards and when it does enough times one blade always breaks off and then it's all done. But for sucking dust out a window the box fan can't be beat.
