Al scaffold plank

Had a guy offer my partner a 24' x 12" Aluminum scaffold plank. It's not the next tool on my list, but if the price is right... I haven't seen it yet, but it apparently has some damage to one of the handles at the end, and my partner, when looking at it, said that the plywood gusset underneath had some damage and would need to be replaced. (The ones I have glanced at in the past, I seem to remember have the ply riveted on), I don't have much experience with these things, although I could certainly use one on occasion.

The price for a brand new one is $641, the guy originally told my partner $200-$300, now, after a modicum of interest, is up to $350. I don't know the brand yet, I'll see it on Monday am, but am interested in any thoughts anyone might have on this, who has more experience than I do with this thing.

I generally buy tools new 'cos I'm not into headaches or purchasing more fix-its, but if I gotta fix it it's gotta be pretty cheap. Thoughts? Name brands? Anything else I should be asking or looking at? Thanks.

Hmmm, - - plywood gusset??, - - I paid about $650 (granted, 5 or 6 years ago) for my 24' by 12" aluminum scaffold plank, - - no plywood involved, - - it's all aluminum. I do have aluminum-railed planks with riveted plywood decks for my pipe-scaffolding. Maybe someone else can be of more help.
