Looking for a 360 self leveling laser. For interior and exterior but don't want to get beat over the head price wise nore do I want a piece of plastic crap. I've been looking at the Berger's what's your take on them?

Same answer I gave KGMZ...

From my experience for "interior" work, PLS Levels have been the best.

For the average builder that doesn't need a lot of range, the PLS lasers are very good for the price.

That PLS360 has a accuracy of 1/8" at 100' and has a range of 250'. So it will only be off 5/16" at 250'.

Just don't buy any laser with less than 1/8" accuracy at 100'. There are a lot of cheap lasers out there now with 1/4" to 5/16" accuracy at 100', so if you need them to go any range it gets much worse.

For me I needed a do it all laser with great range, very good accuracy, and dual slope capability. So for $1000 the CST Berger I got was a great deal and has the same 1/16" accuracy and 2000' range as the $2000 lasers. Plus it came with all the goodies that are extra on the others.

Job we are on right now has a area of 800' x 1000'. So if I am set right up in the middle, the worst I'll be off is 1/4" in one direction and 5/16" in the other. If I had one of those 1/4" accuracy lasers I would be off a inch in one direction and 1 1/4" on the other. A big difference at distance.

But I do like the PLS lasers. I was talking to the rep at a builders show a couple of months ago, and will probably be getting one for interior and just around a house work. Just not a rotary since I have 2 of them, probably a PLS5.

Thanks guys. I was looking at the PSL's but like Kgmz I need one that does it all from setting a line for drop ceilings to checking grade & I dont think the psl360 is a compensation level as well,But I will read up on it.once again thanks I hate buying tools then after you use it once you feel the lump on your head were the beat on the damn thing
