20" Plank To Big?
Hey guys what do you think. I am looking to purchase a 24' or so aluminum pick. I just came across a pretty good deal on a 20" wide 24' long one. I was looking into getting a 12" or 14" for easier manuverability for one man.
Do you guys think the 20" is crazy or to hard to move around for one guy? It weights 121lbs compared to the 12" which is 109lbs Thanks, Dave |

On a Monday or a Friday?? At 8 in the morning or 4 in the afternoon?? Personally, - - I'd rather have a 14" (and that's why I do), - - but hey, - - if you need one and only the 20" is available, - - it does have that 'comfort' advantage. |

Re: 20" Plank To Big?
The only problem I've had with the 20" plank is on steep gabled ends with overhangs. The plank will keep you from getting the maximum height on pump jacks because it hits the overhangs.
Then you'll have to put a step ladder on top of the plank to reach the peak.

Re: 20" Plank To Big?
Seems to me that if you can handle the 12" at 109#, then you shouldn't have a problem with the 20" at just 12# heavier. I'd think the extra bulkiness of the 20" would be more of an issue.
