Re: 10" Or 12" SCMS
I like the upfront controls of the Bosch but also feel the whole setup seems a little too gimmicky and stands out giving this subliminal message...buy me for all my kewl new innovations. I feel the Makita will be more precise and a better work horse for the long haul.
I'm not bashing the Bosch...I have a few bosch tools I am very happy with but am leaning towards the Makita for my future SCMS purchase. I look at the Bosch saw and think it was designed for Michael Jackson. I need to find one locally to physically look at and touch without 10 chains wrapped around it, hehehe. |

Re: 10" Or 12" SCMS
I use the new hitachi 12". Dont use that stupid bosch. It is accurate, but you dont know what youre "accuratley" cutting since you have a 1/16" wide hash mark to read your angle on. The Hitachi has a nice precise miter gauge and a neat laser that is powered through the cord that you can dial into the edge.
As far as deflection goes on a 12 inch blade. Buy an expensive stiff blade (not any of those stupid thin kerf things) and cut slow. I use a 12" because of the renewed popularity of the tall base and crown. |
