Truss System Roof

Hello,
My name is Alicia and I am doing a construction job that requires the roof to be raised by 2 ft and is requesting to shore up the load bearing walls and headers. The trick is coming up wiht a design that will give them what you want. What kind of design they are lookin for is o.k., does anyone have any information on what is the best way to raise a ceilingj and should we do the cathedral ceiling wouldn't that be easier.
