Steel Plate Connection

Hi All,

Please see attached image. Which type of connector should be used to connect this steel plate to 12 x 12? Treated wood layer underneath.

Expansion Bolt vs. Lag Bolt vs. Carriage Bolt vs. Through bolt vs. something Exposed

Your drawing came through as a thumbnail, so totally useless.

Your architect/engineer should be able to answer this question and be compliant with local codes.

If you are your own designer, talk to your AHJ.

ps, most people use the introductions section to demonstrate that they are working professionals...
