Starting Bussines In Tampa FL

Hi guys
I'm a new member, I'd like some tips how to start my bussiness in Tampa FL.
I used to have my own bussiness in NJ, 18 years in the trade and 8 years on my own,no complains and I had good costumers.A year ago I decided to come to Tampa and start my company again, It's been hard, altough people does'nt pay as much people pay in NJ, I can't get to improve my bussines .
Does any one ever had a situation like mine?? Can any of you guys give me some ideas of how to grow my bussines and make customers.
My wife and kids are very happy in the city and I 'd like to try a little be harder.

But don't lose heart, you will succeed finally if you try your best.

Starting out in a new place, my strategy would be the following:

realtor.com has a web site that allows you to compare house values, rate of home ownership, median income, population age , and other information that can be used to target a specific area where I feel my services would be in demand.


Once I have picked my area, I would do my shopping, banking, etc., in that area using a company vehicle. I would park in front of upscale stores in the most visible areas. Use your company vehicle even when not working.

Identify, and contacts local schools, especially private ones in the area. There are student and parent groups that are always looking for sponsors or financial support for plays, field trips, yearbooks, etc.

Advertise on a regular basis, a small business card type ad is not expensive. Once in a while community newspapers publish special guides
or articles about renovations. If you can try to get published .

Always be polite, helpful, clean and sincere.
