Stained/Stamped Concrete

Has anyone ever done it?

I am just now getting into it and I like it.

Never done it, but it's been all the rage out here for about 7 years and only seems to be getting more and more popular. Denver also is bucking the national trend for rates for doing it. All over the country it is supposed to be an affordable alternative, out here it is demanding premium rates.

It's been around here for a while, but definatly picking up steam. The going rate seems to average about 12 sq. ft. when it's all cut up. Never subbed one that was real basic....

Re: Stained/Stamped Concrete

I've done it, but try to stay away from it......Things can go wrong really quick, and if that happens you can lose money really quick..

If your a good finisher, it's not really all that hard to do, espiecaly the basic patterns...

You can make some big money though...here the rates are anywhere from $12 per sq ft...up to $22

I personaly enjoy sticking to the Foundations and Common Sidewalks and Curbing....
I have started to do much more spiecalty type work though, Industrial and handicap work...

How about retaining walls? can you get inserts for forms for different patterns, say nat. stone for example?

Wouldn't a concrete retaining wall be stronger and less expensive, and maybe faster, than a block one?

It depends on some things.....some cases, yes it can be cheaper, some cases no...

Depends on the job and specs themselves..

Form liners can go from being rather affordable, to very expensive..

I just got quoted on some liners, and the prices had a wide range..

From $5 per sq ft up to $30 per sq ft...

All depends what you want and what your willing to spend...
