Shed Roof Ventilation

This has probably been discussed somewhere here, but could'nt find anything in threads. I'm done framing a 2 story addition with 1 story shed roofs on both ends. My concern is how to ventilate the shed roofs, since they die into the 2 story wall. Pitch is 5 in 12. It is all felted & D-edged, so shingling will be happening soon.
I have some ideas, but thought I would toss it out there for suggestions. I'm a little concerned with wind blown snow getting in at the top if I vent it with a continuous vent.

Re: Shed Roof Ventilation

Coravent is made so you can remove half of one side so you put the courogaded area on the roof & the "stripped" portion up the sidewall. Cut a 3" strip off the roof sheathing and you have your air flow.

There's no reason you can't use regular roof vents. Just keep them far enough below the wall that they don't get drifted over easily. I install them after shingles, BTW. Cut a 9x12 hole, pull the nails at the sides, slide the vent in under all but the bottom row of shingles, renail. Much faster than fitting shingles to it.

This thread is COMPLETE!!!

The vents are in and roof shingled. I used the Coravent with one side cut off and turned up the wall. Then I bent some coilstock to match color of siding to cover it with.

Sorry I didn't post back, but I found exactly what I needed on the Coravent web site, then ordered some through lumberyard. Seems like it is the perfect solution.

Thanks anyways.

Re: Shed Roof Ventilation

Mushroom vents or a roof to wall vent. I've never actually installed a roof to wall vent though I have seen it on a few architect's specs before.

So where is the air path in that solution?

Re: Shed Roof Ventilation

Same as any other vented roof, through the vented soffit and out the ridge vent(except this is actually half of a ridge vent).
I'm not quite sure why you ask this Red, am I missing something or is there a better solution?

I'm always up for better solutions

Re: Shed Roof Ventilation

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what Coravent is. Never mind.
