Re: Miratech?

We use it on all our houses that get cement fiber. Less expensive than PVC, much easier to work with than Hardi trim, can be routed and beveled, takes paint better and is much straighter than ACQ, can be nailer with finish nails and holds like you wouldn't believe.
Final testament, I can use anything on my own house and this is what I used.

Re: Miratech?

I'm not that crazy about it, you have to be very diligent about painting cut ends and edges. I've come back to homes we've built several years later with the stuff on and it does swell, and when it swells it just makes it worse by opening up the "end grain" and the disruption of any caulked joints. Lately we used LP's smarttrim, easier to work with and a lot lighter but the end result aren't a whole lot better either though. I know some guys used to use the stuff and went back to pre primed cedar.

Re: Miratech?

I'm with tooth pick on this one. we just did the 1st phase of a huge assisted living with it. The joints looked good when done, now they all have swelled 1/4-3/4". Started to panic then went + looked at the the original building with the same issue.
During the exterior punch by the artchiet he accepted the joints, saying that it's a product issue He is aware of.

Re: Miratech?

definately need to paint cut edges. wasn't to impressed other than the fact that it was straight.. i guess if i needed to use something other than wood I would probably go with azek or some other solid pvc product. wood is good.

Great to compliment fibercement. I think it looks pretty good comarped to most other synthetic products on the market like LP and masonite.
