Letter In Mail
Hey guys, I got a letter in the mail a few days ago(and threw it away)....but it was asking me to go overseas to build(I think for the military...but don't have to be enlisted). It was to build houses....I think.
Anyone get one of these or know anything about this? Good money? Worth it? |

Re: Letter In Mail
You'd better Google every keyword on that letter. My Scam-O-Meter goes off right away when I read what you posted. Sorta like all those jobs in Australia that supposedly existed in the early 90's, when Australia had double-digit unemployment.

Re: Letter In Mail
Well, see.......when I used to frame up here where I am now......we had an actual navy guy come onto our site and ask our foreman about it......so, that just made me think I guess.....
I've heard of it before.......just most people say...that they'd have to carry a 9mm in their bags instead of a hammer.... |

Re: Letter In Mail
I was going to go over to Kosovo and help build units for the military. At that time the lead GC was Brown and Root which is a sub Co of Halliburton Co. I believe the pay was close to six figures which was tax free. You would work three months on and one month off. They had problems getting people to return after their first leave
I was still in college so I decided not to go. Kosovo is a total differnet animal than Iraq. I wouldn't even think about going over there.

Re: Letter In Mail
Can you say why you wouldn't.....and also, I'm assuming you didn't have to be military to do this?
I'm not real scared of much.....Have thought a lot about joining anyways.....so that part doesn't bother me. The heat part does a little. |

Re: Letter In Mail
BIL just spent a couple of years in Iraq as construction foreman. He said he didn't like getting shot at, even during the flights into and out from the site. Sure the money was good but he got spooked enough to not want to go back again to listen to him tell it.

Re: Letter In Mail
I worked with some guys that worked in Afgainstan. Said they were making good money, but it wasn't worth it to carry bags and wear a bullet proof vest, while getting shot at.
