Home Renovation

Hi guys,

I will be moving into my first home soon and it requires work. I wanted to know what the average cost would be for expand/dormer the home. It's in Long island Ny. it was originally a ranch, but was expanded with 2 bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs.

Re: Home Renovation

$180,000...pfft...everyone knows that the average cost of
Quote:
expand/dormer the home
is closer to 250k because the average
Quote:
expand/dormer the home
is about 450 sq. ft. at $45.00 per sq. ft....or is per square which as we all know by now is 110 sq. ft. as per the "perfessional contractor" from somewhere in PA. but I digress.
Where was I? Oh yes. The Ranch dormer being different from the Hacienda dormer or the dog house dormer is slightly less expensive than the Mediterranean variety of dormers because the railing is all split wall type.

I hope to heck this is a help to you.

Re: Home Renovation

Back here we price by the average
cubic foot.
Therefore I am unable to corroborate
Scipio's numbers.

All common logic must be thrown out the window here. Long Island, N.Y?
Unless your gonna camp in the driveway you have to factor in travel time and/or lodging. Average $ per sq. ft. on a second floor addition without plumbing involved is about $125 in my area let alone Long Island.
