Genie Lifts
Used one of these today, and it kicked a55.
Taking from our lunch conversation, and just out of curiosity, does anyone know what it costs to purchase something like this in the link below? http://www.onesourceequipment.com/eq.../Genie/Z30.htm |

Re: Genie Lifts
Several of our local Wal-Mart stores have that exact same model for the maintenance guys to use, I suppose. Looks pretty neat. The articulating jib is just what you need to work over top of crap you can't move. I've never used that particular one, myself. Genie historicly has made some real oddball, niche type lifts.

Re: Genie Lifts
They are nice to have, but if you get one, there is the trailer to haul it, having to store it, insurance, maintenance, etc. I thought about getting one a few years ago, could have gotten a good deal on a 4WD model, but the more I thought about it, I use different styles for different purposes.
If it is something you can justify having around, and have the equipment to move it, and it would fit the bill for most or all of the types of work you do, it would be a definate asset. For me, some jobs I need a small one that fits through doorways, other jobs I need a larger one with 4WD for building exteriors, and others I just need a larger work platform and electric drive because the job is inside and can't have propane or gas fumes. It's easier for me to rent them. Make a phone call, figure out what type, size, and fuel type, and it gets delivered and picked up. Since it is built into the cost of the job, no big deal.

Re: Genie Lifts
Better to rent, as there are so many different types for different situations.
