Composite Sleepers?

Customer's got a concrete pad, wants a composite deck built on it. Does it make sense to use composite 2x4's for sleepers? Can I shoot them in? I haven't dealt with the composites before, what should I watch out for?
TIA, Rich.

I thought the whole point of the stuff was that it couldn't rot, what is going to get mouldy? Thanks, Rich.

Re: Composite Sleepers?

Correct Deck specs out 1 1/2" air gap. I would put down PT 2x4's or 4x4's with a moisture barrier on the concrete.

Now we're getting there, any other bids? Do I hear zero air space, anyone want to go with zero?

Just use treated, it's even less money. I like to use treated for ground contact...

Re: Composite Sleepers?

Yeah, ok guys, thanks for the input, I was just hopin'. Did some searching and most all of the products require at least 1-1/2" clear. Guess I'll throw down some pt and go from there. Rich.
